How Loud is Your Swatch?

Whether you view Swatch as the savior of the Swiss watch industry (Google “quartz crisis”, if you didn’t live through it) or a maker of various plastic watches, my question for any of you who own one (quartz, not Sistem51):

How loudly does your Swatch tick?

This relatively new New Gent model ticks so loudly my daughter asked what that noise was while riding in the back seat when I was driving. My vintage 1986 Soto (Gent) is audible but not like this one. (As I’m typing this, it’s providing loud counter-point to the rather loud quartz wall clock in my office.) Are they all this loud?

Mine is somewhat loud. I hear it when I’m locked in my office.

Every Swatch I own is loud and I hate it. It's the main reason why I avoid them!

I have the same Peanuts x Swatch watches. These modern Swatches tick quite loud. They are as loud as Timex Weekenders. I had a Swatch back in the late 80s and I don't remember it being as loud.

I think they have improved through the years. I had one from the 80's that I had to muffle under a towel.

My old one is much quieter. I keep the new one in the bottom drawer on my watch box so I don’t hear it. 🤔

Nothing is as loud as my Timex Weekender...the Tell Tale Heart of watches. I lock it away in my daughter's room. I'll pay for it in therapy bills later on 🤣

·

I have four of these peanut designs and they all tick loudly

Think Tell Tale Heart.

Only Timex x Todd Snyder is close, and it's still loud for me. Frankly it's why I keep the swatches battery-less. Won't sell one cuz it was a gift, saving the other for Baby-Solidyetti when she's older.

My moonswatches are really not that loud. The Munich Special Edition is quite loud, but none of them are distractingly so.
