Joining the small watch trend

So, I have been reluctant to participate in this smaller watch trend that has gripped the hobby for a few years. I have big wrists and the idea of wearing a 36mm watch seemed ridiculous. That was until I saw this one up for sale in a watch forum. The price was right and the condition was excellent so I decided to try it out. And you know what? I like it. Now, this watch definately wears more like a 38/39mm watch because of the thin bezel and the crown guards. In general this is a tidy little piece that I am taking more joy out of wearing than I should considering I have always considered myself a +40mm guy.

That is very nice indeed. What reference is it?

Nice field watch

Ive never seen this model. Looks great!

It suits your wrist well

·

Classy looking and fits you perfectly.

Size mattered a few years ago but thankfully not much now. Just look at those silly fitness trackers on big strapping mens wrists no one looks twice at them.

I do hope that the trend for bigger watches does die out I have a few vintage Seikos that look like toys compared to newer models.

Man, that's a sweet piece! Wears well on you. I have an 8" inch wrist and also tend to stay at 40mm +, but some of the under 40's work on us!

Yeah, I find that dial size and bezel size play a big factor is how a watch wears on big wrists.

GL0111 is the reference number.

Absolutely. I have that 40mm+ mindset with dive watches, because the bezel always shrinks the dial size. So then you come across a smaller watch with no bezel and ALL dial and it's suddenly not too small.

Clean as hell and suits you. Welcome to the gang!

Oh wow might have to look into that one. Very nice.👍
