What a year 2023 was...I've sold a total of 61 watches to bring focus to my collection. This has been quite a proces. Key here was to really really admit if there was a profound connection between me and the watch in question.
Since I came to the realisation that 69 watches is too much, purely because there are a lot of them getting zero wristtime, I asked myself the question what number would be the maximum to guarantee a fair rotation. I came up with a maximum of 10, and then it began.. It was sometimes difficult to be brutally honest with myself. For example; I had 21 Seiko automatic divers but in the end I came to the conclusion that I really only cared about my beloved SKX-s. I also had an enormous amout of quirky, fun or nostalgic Casio-s. But at the core they needed to be G-shock, MB6 and Tough Solar. And I needed only 1 really, but I convinced myself it should really be 2 :-).
I also kept my first and my last luxury watch purchases, the Oris from 1996 and the Tudor from 2023.
I also discovered that I am very fond of my Seiko SNZG. So here they are the final 8!!
(the watches I've sold; Casios, modern Seikos, Swatch, Vostok, Baume et Mercier, Ebel, Omega, IWC, Citizen, Islander, Timex, Grand Seiko).
Conclusion; I feel relieved actually. I now have a focused collection where every piece matters to me and where all pieces get plenty wrist time.
Any other Watchcrunchers currently downsizing?

I downsized to five. I sold and gave away various watches, including an SNZG. Now I just have an SKX and some other Seiko divers. I suspect a true watch collector's grail is to keep downsizing until they don't have any watches at all. 😀
This looks fantastic! Congrats! This must have been quite a relief to get to this point! I totally get the need to have two G-Shocks 😎Your collection is a sporty one, I like that!

No watches at all is a mortal sin.
Three SKX's!! Badass!
Just finished downsizing myself, I’ll post about it later. I kept my Tissot Visodate, SKX007, 5610U, SBGN003 and BB58. I’ll buy 1 or 2 this year but trying not to rush.
