Whats your favorite diver? Mine is the SLA023J1 or the Seiko Marinemaster 300

It's not everyday that you find yourself forking out over 2,500USD on a Seiko. But what can I say? The heart wants what the heart wants. I can never get tired of wearing this oversized diver. The case of this watch is like a facetted diamond that shimmers like crazy in all kinds of lighting condition. The undying style of the case that has stood the test of time not unlike the Rolex Submariner. The unique monocoque case architecture that is quite rare, even among professional dive watches from other brands. These are the reasons (and more) that made me fall in love with the Seiko SLA023J1. Whats your favorite diver?

I'm an MM300 fan for sure! My favorite diver . I know there is an LX in Titanium but it looks different.  Why doesn't Seiko do this watch in Titanium is beyond me

As a non-diver, I prefer a more "dress diver" aesthetic. Mine is a Longines Legend Diver which I love for its elegant looks and its unconventional super compressor style case. It's also quite versatile with various straps.

SKX case style is still my fav. Maybe Im boring but I just think its so versatile and evident in the fact its been used on so many models outside the SKX.

I own a Marinemaster and it is pretty nice; however, my 6309 will always be my favorite diver.

I have a few divers, but my favorite is my Seiko LX SNR045. It can be thought of as a sibling to the MM300. Its DNA is also heavily influenced by Seiko's original saturation diver from the 60's. What drew me to it is the level of finishing, the titanium case construction, and of course, the spring drive movement. You don't see those movements too often outside of Grand Seiko. This one performs beautifully at only +2 seconds a month.

Wow! That accuracy is something else!

Yeah, I knew the spring drives had a reputation for accuracy, but it still blew me away. As it is, it's more accurate than some of the quartz watches I own. Only the ones with atomic regulation or Bluetooth sync beat it.

I too am a huge fan of the Marinemaster 300. The only other diver I currently own is a Vertex M60C AquaLion no-date, which cost about the same, is much smaller at 40mm diameter and 14mm thick, but somehow wears as large or even larger than the 44mm diameter and 15.4mm thick Seiko in all aspects other than sliding under a cuff, which the Vertex can actually do and the Seiko can’t.

The Seiko is probably more versatile as despite its huge size and sporty 1960s look, it is also quite dressy thanks to the Zaratsu polishing on the case and the shiny ceramic bezel. The Vertex, on the other hand doesn’t dress up as well thanks to the mostly matte DLC black finish (the polished bevels look amazing in black) and matte ceramic bezel.

I would be happy with either of these as an only watch, though thankfully I can have a choice.
