OK, in that case, I had to vote for aesthetic. I buy from big brands, microbrands, and AliExpress brands, with a wide variety of movements, but I won't buy a watch with an aesthetic I find even remotely unappealing regardless of brand or movement.

I agree... Just like the way I pick my woman. She has to look good first, then I'll worry about her movement later 😂
It is never an A vs. B scenario. Any one that says it does not start with looks is lying. After that, for me, it is a balance of movement, materials, bracelet, craftsmanship. Heritage is nice, but not a necessity.

I consider size as part of aesthetics. Latest example is the new US release of the Seiko 5 GMT yellow dial. Would love to have one but at 42.5mm wide and thick, well hell.
My sweet spot is 36-39mm with max 40mm, and prefer height under 12mm and L2L under 46mm.

For me looks determine whether I look into brand and specs, or not.
I won't buy an ugly watch based on name, or movement.

Right on, glad I am not the only one on the NH35.

That seriously narrows down options.
