Yet another piece to a grand puzzle of life and existence.

I like to think of myself as someone who is only partially absorbed by the void that is this hobby most of the time. A up-and-coming horticulturist if you will. Altho despite this very glaring shortcoming from me and mine I am also painfully aware on what lengths are sometimes required to get ones hands on that super unique piece to add to their collection, sometimes culminating in even going to different countries to achieve that goal of something that is domestic to the place different than someone resides in. Pretty sure I heard stories about someone's grandpas brothers dogs friend having to climb mountains to reach the hermit who sold them a Seiko that was not Limited Edition or a Reissue. Impressive, I know.

But what if the aspiring hornswoggler such as myself doesn't want to go to such extreme lengths to add a metaphorical jewel to their growing collection? What if we want something that is unique, has one hell of a presence and allows people to know that certain someone has spent good few hours watching Youtube videos suspiciously titled like "Top 10 affordable watches" or "Watches that will make hobby snobs acknowledge you"? You get yourself physically and mentally ready for a few clicks worth of journey on the internet, of course.

Enter Orient. Bambino specifically. V4 of it even specificaler. Does it look like something that punches above its weight class? Definitely. Does it warrant the money spent on it? Without a doubt. Is it unique enough of a piece to summon all the WIS in the proximity to your yard? Well, no. But who would want that with the sizes of yards these days anyway. So its not that much of a con in the grand scheme of things. The point is, even as an aspiring heretic who has spent a little bit of their earnings on this hobby of channeling ones personality through their wrist and I am not talking about another wrist based activity I can't help but admit that this piece looks amazing as all.

The reasons for which would probably be (and bear with me, I am just a junior herbalist in all this) is the fact that sum of its parts makes V4 look like something I would have probably put in way higher price bracket if I wouldn't know much better after spending my own money to buy it. Dial that manages to channel all the colours of the void is there and it is definitely calling to me. To be fair, I don't know if its the alcohol I have consumed or is my new watch actually whispering sweet eldritch nothings to my ear. I shall keep y'all updated. Lugs gently curving down to create the better wrist profile? Yes sir, we got that as well. Strap that does....No wait, that was literally the very first thing I replaced on it. Compared to some of the defaults, its honestly a bit sad. But lets face it, for some additional cash money you can dress this piece even more. Domed crystal adding to the depth and fullness of the colour at particular angles? Definitely so.

So all things considered, as a harbinger who is just a short distance from the start of their journey in general comparison, I do think that this is an amazing addition to my collection and even tho it will not garner me much compliments in real life (I did actually get couple of compliments on my G-Shock by other G-Shock wearers of course) but it does feel like a very valid addition to my personality. And yes, I know I said "unique pieces" but that doesn't mean posting your clown watches, you two. Y'all know who you are.

TL;DR: Orient Bambino V4 is a purchase I am very chuffed with. Not recommended to a hunters of only unique pieces but for those who are looking for a great dress watch for a decent price, very worth considering.

Is the V4 38mm?

Love the bambino! I have a V2 and it's great!

Is the V4 38mm?

42mm, not the usual Bambino 40.5mm variant. These V4 models are slightly larger.

Is the V4 38mm?

Unfortunately, V4 is (to my knowledge) the biggest out of the lot at 42mm so it is definitely a bit of a far cry from other versions coming at 38 or so. It definitely wears like less than 42, hand on heart

Stunner!

I feel that my Black Bay 36 is obscure enough to make any other watch nerd realize that he/she has found a comrade. It's not the obvious choice but a good one, and that indicates too much time spent on research 😅

Had to look it up, but that is some stealth flex out there on all the research resulting into something great. Definitely authority/presence move condensed into piece for how obscure it is :)

Am I allowed to say on this site that these pictures might have awakened something in me? 😂

Lovely dial, I have too many white dials so maybe this is the right Bambino for me

·

Nice dial and strap combo man! Congrats!

Might be worth a consideration. V4 also has couple more colors as well if blue turns out not to be up your alley. Gold coloured case + green dial, steel + brown (weakest sunburst out of the lot, in my opinion) and I think there's also rose gold + brown but I am not 100% sure on that one

Nice dial and strap combo man! Congrats!

Thank you kindly. I know I used "wears like a dream" few times before but this definitely applies here xD
