Pink dial?

… I’m going to Tokyo next week (lovely place). The cherry blossom is over, but I’m in the market for a pink dial watch to commemorate my 50th birthday – it’s a miracle that I have made it this long, so why not spend a little. Or much.

I’m thinking Grand Seiko. Sbgw289. Sbga413. Or Sbgh341. Or just a pink Citizen Tsuyosa.

To the point – any recommendations or other suggestions? Anyone I should stay away from? Anything else I should have on my radar?

If you’re looking to buy the SBGA413 Shunbun in Japan, you’ll need to ask for the SBGA443. This is the JDM (Japanese domestic market) number for it. The actual watch is identical, but the packaging is Japan-specific.

May not be Japanese, but the Nomos Club Campus is fun and distinctive

I think the GS options are fantastic, but if you are just looking for other pink dial alternatives the Zenith seems very nice:

That would be my pick, too, great watch. Unfortunately above my paygrade 😭

Just came back from Japan. They don’t have a lot of shunbuns available it seems. Had to visit 5 different boutiques to find this one. Ultimately found it in a small boutique in YOKOHAMA S of Tokyo but ONLY A 30 minute train ride. hat being said it’s an amazing watch. Make sure you ask for the tax free discount :)!

Pink is a wonderful color. Enjoy your hunting while there!

The GS spring is largely a silver watch with a pink hue. Look at the whitest part of the Sakura flower and that is pretty much the look.

Photos where the watch looks very pink are enhanced or captured at very specific angles/lighting.

Good luck in your search. Happy day of birth, as well.

I am in the same boat as you. 50 this year and I'm celebrating it in Japan. I am in search of either a pink dial or a moon phase complication watch. I will keep an eye on this post for further suggestions.

What about just browsing and see what pink dials grab your attention?

Sbga413 would be my pick or the Pink Zenith chronomaster Sport

My first pick would be the 497:

… so I tried on the pink Grand Seikos, but apparently I have the complexion of a pig, so pink on pink is a no go. I also tried the Barbie Tag, but too small – the intense pink is nice though.

But I found a light blue dial that spoke to me instead. Jeans blue is the new pink. And the japanese must wear their watches with the included box – the condition of used watches here is ridiculous – I just wish I had their sense of tending to things …

And a display case back on a quartz is just pure japanese entertainment 😂.

… and I finally got me a japanese pink watch. Less expensive than the GS, but probably more scratch resistant.
