Got sold a fake MoonSwatch….

Yea, I bought a fake Moonswatch, but I immediately took it apart and man are these things built poorly.

I’d seen Videos online where people claim they are just as good, but obviously fake watches are crap, regardless of the manufacturing quality because they steal from the brands we love.

So I had taken it apart and compared it to my chronographs I bought used and had done light maintenance on.

Also, compared it to my real MoonSwatch and man when you’ve seen a real one you can immediately see that it’s a fake.

I’m starting to get into the DIY on watches so it was cool to put it into its basic pieces and I even thought about taking the movement apart, but decided not too since it was some odd brand I’ve never heard of before.

It was interesting, but now it goes into the bin.

Cheers friends!

Amazing how low the fakers will go!! 🤯

There goes the 1 month warranty.

I'm actually surprised to see a date wheel in there.

I commented on a 'Neptune' a few days ago that someone posted on here because I recognised that it was a fake, and I'm seeing the same issues here.

Sadly, lots of people are buying these cheaply and reselling them as genuine, and unsuspecting victims are being scammed.

It's also hitting Swatch because I expect a good percentage of the complaints about them are coming from people who bought a fake and don't realise it, but are happy to shout about how bad they are.

Looks good. I guess you're complaining about the battery door?

Why do people mock Swatch's sustainability efforts by discarding new, working objects just because of their prejudices?

It really is something to behold that they managed to make a strap even worse than the one carried by the real MoonSwatch. That one came yellowed out straight from the factory!

·

Wow..they make a fake of a fake?? Crazy. JMO

Ah, you should have bought the Omsan X Moonswatch instead. 😜

I saw that and was blown away, but I accidentally bought a watch on ebay that looked like a skelotnized automatic and when I received it it was Quartz with a dial that was designed to show the internals of an automatic... I smashed that POS with a hammer, took the battery out of it and the straps for parts and through the rest in the bin.

Just like this watch, somethings are so crappy reselling them is just ruining the watch game.

Na, I just don't want to wear a fake watch, hommage is cool and I have a Pagani and will build my own twi frankenwatches soon (with customized dials), but counterfeit is not something I want to wear. At the same time I did buy it, but it's a moral grey zone since I bought it to learn about it.
