Tissot Heritage 1938

Who has one of these Heritage watches, and how do you like it?

I first found out about them in a Teddy Baldassare video, and I’m very impressed that Tissot offers a COSC certified watch for under a grand. I’ve since watched the video a few times, and I keep looking at the watch online.

Well tonight we were in NYC to see Andrea Bocelli, and the Tissot boutique is right in Times Square. I figured I would stop in to see what my wife likes, as I want to get her a nice watch for Christmas. While there I tried on the Heritage and I really liked it.

I’m going to get my wife a watch first (still not sure what, we’re checking another shop), but I’m definitely thinking about pulling the trigger on the Heritage soon.

Side Note: I was shocked at how little the associates at the Tissot store are… one guy said that watches are only for the fashion and looks, and that performance doesn’t matter. Another guy told us that a watch my wife liked was 36mm and $825… turns out it’s actually a 29mm and $750… maybe it’s just the salesman in me, but I try to be an expert on whatever I’m selling.

I work in retail & the first rule is known your products 🤯 they sound rubbish!!

Gorgeous watch, looks like excellent value to me. Love the small seconds, if only they'd left out the date!! 👍👍

Great watch! I like the small seconds version as well.

As to the staff, bought my PRX at that store and the associates were unremarkable. Same level of mediocrity at the Citizen Flagship store on 50th that just opened up. I had basic questions about an Alpina model, which went unanswered. I ended up calling a retailer in Colorado who took me through the watch by phone for 10 mins and sent me pics.

I have the salmon dial version and really like it. It's a beautiful watch aesthetically and mechanically.

I have a real estate business by day, but I work in a restaurant Friday and Saturday nights. You be to know the drinks and menu, how else can you sell!

I like the small seconds too, but ultimately I love the look of the one I posted the best. What’s more, it’s around $200 cheaper… with the small seconds I can’t claim that I’m wearing a COSC Certified watch for under a grand 😂

Glad I’m not the only one!

I had planned to check out AnalogShift up on 58th, and also the Omega boutique on 57th. But alas, we ended up not having enough time before our dinner reservation.

I’m going to check out Watches of Switzerland this week, I figured they have a larger selection for my wife to see what she likes. They have Fissot as well if that’s the route she chooses.

Thank you for sharing! The salmon dial is beautiful

I have the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80, a non COSC watch that runs in COSC spec. My future SIL has the Tissot Gentleman, another non COSC watch that runs in COSC spec. So my experience is Tissot is selling accurate watch movements. Regardless, a COSC certificates watch for under $1K is very very tempting. The old school looks of the Heritage 1938 are a huge plus too. I say go for it…and pics when you get it!

For your wife, I’d recommend something from Tissot’s Dolce Vita range. Lot of choices there, and none look bad! Both my adult daughters have Dolce Vitas wrapped and under their Christmas trees at this very moment.

Yes, I'd go for the one you pictured too, that date ruins the small seconds.

Can see the one you've chosen in my watch box in the future too, it's lovely 😍

That is great to know! I’m pretty impressed with Tissot lately.

My wife seems to like the Le Locle collection if she does stick with Tissot

Yes I think the classic 3 hand variants are more aesthetically pleasing. If the small seconds didn’t have a date then that would be a winner, and I would change out the bracelet for a leather strap.

I own the watch pictured and I like it but haven't worn it yet. (the Tissot logo on the back is sharp and I need to polish or deal with that somehow.....I have a few watches with sharp casebacks I have to deal with so I think this is an issue specific to me, not the watch)

fyi, it's on sale for 25% off at trifecta watches, which is also where I purchased mine from.

The logo is sharp? That’s super odd. I tried on both this one and the salmon dial at the boutique and I didn’t feel any sharp edges. On the contrary, I thought the watches and straps were very comfortable. That’s why I really want one now… I wonder if one slipped through Tissot’s QC.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the discount!

Just checked Trifecta. Assuming I looked at the right place (a watch store in IN), it looks like the discount is over.

yeah like i said, it's a me issue. I got into watches this year and probably about 10% of them i'm having issues with. A couple were used watches so I doubt they bothered the previous owner.

I see. Everybody’s wrist is different I suppose.
