New JDM seiko

Have been on the look out for a set and forget watch for work and to set the times on my automatic watches. Seen this watch the Seiko SBTM307 on I like watches 2 YouTube channel and thought that looks perfect 👍 had a quick look on eBay but sellers wanted more than RRP price so went to sakura watches online and they had it on sale for £248 so I pulled the trigger on it. It came to the UK via DHL express and yes I had to pay import tax but it still worked out cheaper than RRP price. Watch arrived today and must say I'm very impressed 👍 solar quartz, radio controlled, sapphire crystal and Seiko ultra clear crystal coating which is better than any anti reflective coating I've had on any other watch, the crystal literally disappears. Even the bracelet is pretty good yes it's got a pressed clasp but I don't mind them find they are thinner and and sometimes more comfortable than milled clasps plus you can't see it when wearing the watch.

I'm actually blown away with how good this watch is, build and finish quality is amazing and looks far more expensive than it is, it reminds me of my black carbon longines vhp GMT which I sold because I struggled to see the hands when indoors.

Don't think this watch is going to leave my wrist for a while 😉 and I think it's true that the Japanese keep the best watches for their own domestic market. Amazing watch at an amazing price,so glad I got it and can highly recommend if your after a set and forget watch 👍

That's sweet! I dig the big 6/12. Are they covered in lume, or just the markings around the dial?

Also - the photo is neat in that it seems to have 2 second hands! Double exposure?

My citizen radio-controlled watches are a joy - I have a few, and there's something mesmerizing about seeing a row of watches ticking (nearly) in unison!

Thanks it's an amazing watch for the money, lume is dots round the edge but it is lumibrite so it's very good. Watch looks way better in the flesh. And the ultra clear crystal coating is amazing 👍

I'm currently looking at a couple of other JDM Seiko's from the same range (Seiko Selection) and was thinking about purchasing from Sakura. I'm also based in the UK so glad to know the shipping experience was good.

Now I need to decide if I want to go with the titanium variant from the collection.

Yeh no issues at all, and very well made watches that look even better in the flesh. That looks like a very nice watch 👍

That's a lovely looking watch - really keen on getting a radio controlled watch - the ultimate everyday watch. How bad was the import tax to the UK?  I'm doing the man-maths on the best way of getting hold of one 😀

Import tax was just under 50 quid but it still worked out cheaper than RRP and was pretty quick to arrive via DHL express. I did look on eBay for one first but they all wanted more than RRP price. Sakura watches have them on sale and theirs lots of different ones in that range, bought mine online with zero issues. Oh and it looks even better in the flesh 👍

Cheers - that is a good price and I look forward to seeing one in person. It's really helpful to know the rough import tax I may have to pay 👍
