Santos - the nearly perfect watch?

Sharing a few more pics of my wife’s Santos.  This is the medium, which is too small for my gorilla wrists, but I tried on the large variant as she was considering hers. I tell you, I have a few additional watches that I want in my collection, but dare I say the Santos could easily be a one-watch collection. I don’t think there is a perfect watch out there - but this comes pretty darned close.  It checks all the boxes.

Do you think there is a perfect watch out there?

The Santos has the history, the quality, the bracelet tech (so can wear on supplied leather or bracelet) - the gorgeous / iconic design. Overall its a great shout for a perfect watch.

I prefer the vintage 1970s version - specifically the early carree variety. (See below my two tone.)

The Tank is the perfect watch - for many of the same reasons.

I love my Santos large. At least most of the time. There are some days where I look at my watch box, and no other watch will do. There are other days when I look at it and think "why did I buy that".  It's definitely one of my favorite watches in my collection, but because of the fact that I really need to be in the right mood to want to wear it, I don't think it would be ideal for someone looking for just one watch.

They are both beautiful.  I tried on the two-tone large, and it definitely spoke to me.  The tank is an amazing piece as well.  Stunning pair you have!

That's nice!  I appreciate the perspective.  Your two-tone is stunning!  Love that color combo.

I was initially wanting the blue dial, but was concerned about scratches on the bezel. The black dial with ADLC bezel didn't appeal to me in photos, but when I saw it in person I fell in love with it.   I don't think that you can go wrong with any of the variants - they are all beautiful watches. If it wasn't financially irresponsible for me to do so, I cold see having multiple Santos in my collection.

You won’t get any arguments from me. I bought this back in March and it is getting most of the wrist time. It’s motivated me to unload five watches this year.

Take out the word nearly and you’ve got it.
