More "subdued" G-Shocks?

Not trying to be "controversial" at all here, but I have a question for G-Shock lovers, whom I respect for their passion. I have tried to make myself like G-Shocks for years, but have never been able to get past all of the busyness on the watches. It always feels like the watches are screaming "I'm a G-shock...look at me, I'm a G-Shock!" at me. But I do find I like and appreciate the few "subdued" versions Casio has released so much more, and I may be purchasing one to give it some wrist time & see if it could be a well-loved new at-work "beater" for me. G-shock guys, do you think we'll see more of these more restrained versions in the future, or do you think this approach takes away from the desirability & "G-Shockiness" of the watches? I'd love to see what they could do, and frankly my little watch collection would be so much bigger if I could find more G-Shocks that I could fall in love with, LOL.

I would also like to see more restrained / muted releases as well but I think they work a bit better design wise on certain models than others

I personally see the square 5600/5610 having a retro charm with all that dial text. They still look good without, but there is then a lot of negatives space on the screen.

Are you more interested in muted / different colourways? The GMAS-2100 has some nice muted tones.

I Too am into the simple and subdued gshock. This is my one and only for now.

Yeah, muted color ways really help, too. 👍

Myself I love G-Shock watches . I have 16 G-Shocks with another due for arrival from Japan Saturday. I never felt they scream" Look at me". They are busy and set up isn't the most simple, but I enjoy not reading the instructions and figuring it out myself. All G-Shocks have a similar set up pattern. (IMO) Some are very large, like my GWG-1000 which I wore yesterday with a long sleeved sweatshirt. I didn't want to cover it with the sleeve so I left it exposed. Yes a 56.7 × 56.1 × 18 mm watch like that will "pop" But no one gave a damn. All of my G-Shocks are minimum 52mm. But Casio makes so many of them that one who takes a fancy will find one suitable for them. The Classic GW5600 is an ideal size but too small for my liking. I have the behemoth GXW56, it's a square but huge compared to the GW5600. Casio makes a vast variety of G-Shock watches to fit those that like them. The G-Shock I'm expecting is bigger than my GWG-1000, but only slightly. Get you a G-Shock!

Cool info. I'll probably stay with the smaller sizes. I know they're named G-Shocks because they are rugged & highly shock resistant...but I'm still gonna cringe every time I slam any watch into a door frame, LOL. 😂

I’ve tossed some of mine on the floor in front of my friends to show them the toughness. They look at me funny but they don’t care because they’re not into watches.

Can’t go wrong with the blacked out GA2100. I have the camo dial one and I love it but the black out is great, subdued, it’s the slinnest G Shock ever made and sits great on wrists and I have a tiny wrist.

They definitely have something for everybody imo.

I have the same one, and I like it except for the top left button which is really hard to press!

That’s for sure.

I am a G Shock fan. Not a fan boy but a fan. I do own 9 G Shocks. My favorites are the less "bold" designs. I do own some large G Shocks because there is something about them that appeals to me. I go for more tame colors. Most of mine are black and a couple of green ones.

You did ask if we think Casio will release more "tame" G Shocks. I suspect they might. The popularity of the GA2100's I think will lead to some more tame designs from them. I doubt they ever stop making the very bold G Shocks as long as they sell but I am fine with some more tame designs myself.

I love it, but how's visibility? Might need to get myself something with MIP because I'm getting old, lol! 😆

I Think they purposely recessed that button so we dont accidentally set our watch. But yeh it is a bit hard to reach. I never really use it though to be honest. I just re sync my watch to atomic time every few months and its good to go

Visibility is not as good compared to the regular gray screens. But stealth. Oooh. 🤣
