It's a cool watch, which is why on Hammond's wrist I must vote it uncool.
Why you might ask? Easy. Imagine crash prone Hammond wearing a nice Speedmaster in a car. Go on, imagine that. We know what he does to anything that goes faster than barge. You really want to condemn a Speedmaster to a fiery/crash-y grave?

My favorite segment with Hammond: The time he drove an F1 car, and couldn't make any turns... because he was going too slow - he couldn't get enough heat in the tires to get them to stick to the track!!!

I’ve tried for years to like the Speedmaster. It’s handsome, but I’ve had 5 opportunities to drop on one, and each time I buy something else. I just cannot get over the line. “Oh but you just have to have a Speedy”, “all watch people like Speedys”, yeah… no… you don’t and we don’t. I don’t prescribe to the proper collections need a Tank, Speedy, Rolex trope, I don’t want everyone’s collection, I want my own.
For that - uncool. Sorry.
I know this will end up as cool, or at worse sub-zero, but it’s just “meh”.
