It will be depending on the taste of the person that’s going to receive the gift, but there are some deals to be had with the Casio AQ-230A-7DMQYES and similar references. A cool Watch if the gift receiver likes the 80s aesthetics.
First thing to figure out is if that person likes wearing watches. If they do, is there a certain type/style they like. Would hate to have you buy something they never wear (ie they don't like things on their wrist or don't like "that" type, etc)
I have gifted a few Timex but I have gifted more Casio's than any other watch brand. Depends on the recipient. If I know someone is more apt to like field watch styles or prefer something slim, I go Timex. If I know someone works with their hands, wrenches on stuff, has a rough job, or is more likely to be hard on their watches, I choose Casio.
I recently bought this WWOOR dress watch (a truly elegant original design from China) for only 42 euro and then found it for incredible 23 euro, so I did just order another one to have as reserve...
Here is the one I bought in my main collection box...

Sekonda or Lorus.
Loads to choose from and always lots of deals on Amazon or Ebay. Alternatively look at Stimpson of London for vintage bargains.
Timex has some good offerings around those prices as well!
Casio

Absolutely, yes.

Timex Weekender of Easy Reader are solid and practical enough to work for any normal person.
