ALS Odysseus

Wanna hear peoples opinions on this one. Personally I think its leagues the best sports watch from top tier brand. Id have one over an aquanaut or an offshore any day of the week

It's very nice...

understatement or 2022 so far

I love how balanced the dual looks and even though there is so much going on it doesn't look over cluttered

·

Would take this over ANY other sports watch.

·

I like the blue one better. And it looks even better without the weird bracelet they chose. I'd still prefer the Overseas from Vacheron Constantin but it's still a looker.

·

Once you see the macro-shots of the dial and the movement, I would agree that I would take it over most other sports watches. The only problem is that this is also reflected in the price.

·

I have been sorely tempted to go for this watch, as I am a long term Lange fan.

I love the Odysseus, but the one thing that I have trouble with is the letter/number typography...It is distinctly 19th century (perfectly fitting the Lange aesthetic) but it comes across as a bit incongruous when used on a modern sports watch. I really need to see it in the metal to make a good judgement.

·

I'll be honest, I don't like the looks in pictures.  I have heard though that in person this watch is really quite the looker and impressive.  I know many watches that are like that, including the Royal Oak, so I can believe it.  Need to see one in person.

Imho, the Overseas ekes out just because of the bracelets. The entirety of the VC is a cohesive design language whereas the bracelet on this looks like they designed a watch and thought "Oh yeah, it has to have an integrated bracelet."Almost looks like a bracer than a bracelet.

Otherwise, they would tie for me. VC more on the elegant side and this ALS on the more robust/bold end.

I have had the pleasure of wearing both steel and white gold versions along with just about all of the competition, without hesitation I would take the white gold Odysseus over all of them, with the steel version right behind it

Agreed. With ALS I often feel theres a little bit too much going with the dials and it’s a bit random, but this one is perfectly balanced

I love the overseas, but not as a sports watch Tbh. Give me an WG ultra thin overseas perpetual calendar any day

Yeah. It isn't a sports watch at all. It's just damn good looking.

Funny story, I actually got to take pictures of an Oddyseus because I work for a watch magazine. And I dropped it. LOLOLOLOL.

Fortunately it fell on a cushion because we were doing that at a hotel. Strong emotions that day.

No doubt - the Odysseus is in the same league as the royal oak or nautilus. It's newer and so it will take time before you start to see them on people's wrists - plus they are sold out in most places so that's a good sign.  Love the big dates and the pushers.

I think it's high time that Lange decided to get into the sports watch game. The issue is, no one can really get one at retail, and grey prices are bonkers. I've not tried to source through an AD, which may be closer to retail but not sure. Either way, I think this thing is awesome and I'd love one on a steel bracelet.

·

Absolutely gorgeous! I would get the titanium OR stainless steel version.

As the lucky owner of a PP Aquanaut and a VC Overseas. I agree!😂 They knocked out of the freaking park! Ticks all my boxes and in my opinion, it's a true High Horology Sports watch. True Water resistance/perfect size/great functions and exquisite finishing. Love It!

I don't know that I would call any of ALS' pieces "sports watches"...
