Here is a weird one. When I first started collecting I came across this piece. It is an IWC pocket watch converted into a (large) wristwatch. Thoughts? I have to admit an old guy like me can actually read it!!
I purchased my first 'real' watch back in 1974 it is a Rolex DateJust in gold and stainless. I still own that watch but I really got the watch bug about ten years ago .Fun Hobby Update..We discovered...

It’s stunning, I love it!
The movement isn't as decorated as I expected it to be. How old is it? Lovely old watch.
Ditto! Looks amazing! And like you I can read it without glasses!
Gareth @GasWorks is currently renovating my fathers/grandpa's pocket watch but I won't ask him to convert it into a wrist watch!
Simply stunning though!

I'm very glad about that... I think that level of skill is beyond me 🤣

I dont really know how old it is. In its day it was a tool watch..maybe that was before they did fancy decoration on movements..sorry it is beyond my knowledge..I am going to dig deeper and see what I can find out.
Wow - that's lovely. I think it could be a cal 65/66 - take a look at http://www.iwcpocketwatch.com/watches/finger-bridge/

Based on the link from @danmitch it looks like IWC really didn't decorate like some other brands.

A lot of old JLC movements aren't that decorated either. Personally, I happen to think that the US watchmakers did it better between 1890-1920.
