NWA!!! Graduating with a Tudor.

The Pelagos 39 has been on my wrist for over a week!

I haven't got the money to buy a Rolex. But this is my Master's graduation watch (graduated just last month)! I don't want to spend any more of my parent's money (although I'll pay them back the tuition fees, bought the P39 with my own money) and I don't really want to wait (forever) for a Rolex. I know we all hear stories of lucky ones getting the Rolex they wanted. But it seems the Rolex luck isn't on my side yet (HK still judge you very much on your age I guess).

So, how's it on the wrist?

Pros: Light, surprisingly light. It's my first time wearing a Titanium watch, it's as light as my Orient Bambino on a leather strap. The Bezel action is just 😘. I only ever tried Seiko Divers. So .... man the bezel sound is greattttttt !!! Movement is super accurate if you have those timegraphers to measure it and compare it to Seiko's movements. You can SEE how much better Tudor's are. The clasp has a great feel to it when snapping in place.

Cons:

Lume: if you hear from the YouTube reviews, ya the hands are very dim. But when it's pitch black and the lume had faded a bit. You can't really see the lumed hands are dimmer. (Yes, I wear it to sleep. Hey, it's my baby 😉).

Case: It's sharper than stainless steel ones (at least Seiko in my limited experiences). Can't say I got scratched till I bled. But, I'm pretty sure you can use it as a weapon with enough force. So, just handle with care when around loved ones.

The OEM Rubber strap: It's really bad. I can't even fit it. It's so sticky. The rubber straps I bought from Taobao (Aliexpress) have WAYYYYY better quality in comparison. I was really disappointed tbh.

Daily Driver right now?

No 😂. It's the SRPK33 Seiko 5 Tiffany Dial 38mm instead.

Not bc of the watch, but me. I started dating my girlfriend just a day after I bought my Pelagos 39. On our first date, she complimented my Tiffany Seiko 5 😂. So, I've been wearing the Seiko 5 instead whenever I'm with her. And with the ultra-sharp clasp of the Pelagos 39, I worried I might accidentally scratch her.

P.S:

In my first ever hands-on with the P39 (same day I got it). I saw a speck of dust (?) INSIDE the watch (see Orange Circle). But somehow after the Salesperson guaranteed that they wouldn't sell me that watch. And we have another look again (the one with the dust). The dust was gone! I really hope it's just a one-off issue. It's definitely inside the watch, both myself and the Salesperson confirmed it. I don't see any on my P39 at least for now.

Do any Pelagos 39 owners have such experiences? And any of the P39 owners concerned about the dimmer P39 hands? Plz tell me below. Thanks watchfam !

Lovely post and lovely watch 👍

Lume is pretty low on my list of watch attributes so to me it’s not an issue. I really like my Pelagos 39 from a form factor perspective and its minimalist diver aesthetics.

Price difference aside, Tudor is a great piece and made to it's big brothers standards just without white gold indices and platinum. Awesome piece you have.

Congrats! More watches to come 😊

The last time i went to a tudor AD to look at the 500m diver pelagos one of the lume sticks from the ceramic bezel was missing. It was enough to make me rethink getting a tudor. Plus, personally i have a acceptance-hate stance with the snowflake hour hand. Some days its ok some days i dont like it at all. Maybe one day.

I see. That's alright! Buy the watch you love!

Originally, I wanted to get the new Jubilee BB36. But in the end, I still feel it is very weird. Snowflake & diver indices (sporty) paired with the Jubilee bracelet (dressy). There is a reason why Rolex has the OP and DJ separated.

Congratulations on a gorgeous watch! Honestly, a no date Sub has NOTHING on a Pelegos 39mm! Enjoy!

Thank you @TimeJunkie, the Pelagos 39 feels great on the wrist. And the T-fit is amazing, especially in the summer times.

The grey-ish bezel, the red text makes it less boring than the Sub. Yet it is more tool-watch and versatile watch compared to the Sub

Pelagos is a perfect tool watch 🔥
