Rescue Repair Service for One Owner Seiko 7548

I was contacted by a local gentleman regarding his Seiko 7548 Diver that he has had from new 1982.

He recently sent it into a local watch shop for a new crystal and battery to be fitted. When he received it back not long after the crown post snapped off he contacted the watch shop but was told sorry we can’t help it’s an old watch and we can’t get the parts. So he contacted me through an auction site asking if I could help out with the repairs I obviously said yes and I have the parts to repair while I’ve got the Watch I will give it a full service restoration for the owner.

Restoration to follow.

Isn't it cheaper to drop in a new movement? they come with stem. Still gotta respect the fact you could fix it.

No you can't get a new movement for these now it's 42 years old the movement is ok just needs a service. Aftermarket crowns and stems are available. I've been working on these for over 10 years now so have built up a good supply of spares parts and happy to get it back on the owners wrist.

Good on you brother, keeping the original parts is always the first option, unless it's fried then replace it 👍

These old Seiko movements are so good. 40+ years old, something goes wrong... you (YOU, not me!) can fix it!
