Poorly designed date windows

I think most chronographs with date windows are poorly designed. Most are useless in real life or ruin otherwise good dials. In the examples I found the Edox and the Aikon are kinda cool but the date windows jusr destroys the harmony of the dial. I think date windows aren't meant for chronographs. What do you think? Or it's just that aren't well designed?

Hate that superfluous complication on anything tbh, but tucked away between indices so it can be ignored is the best placement if they absolutely have to have one 😂

I'm a fan of a pointer date.

I never even set my date window.

Except on digital ones.

I agree with you. Chronographs are already busy enough as it is with the sub dials. I only realise how a chrono looks better without a date window when playing around with date or no date window feature on the Dan Henry website

i dont mind it on the lunar pilot since it's color matched

I don't mind them at all, except for that ML - why ruin the subdial? Actually the Citizen isn't clever either - leave the white date wheel or colour match it - the black isn't great.

I love the date at 12 on the TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox (although the chrono seconds hand gets in the way) and I don't dislike the upright date at 4:30 on the Seiko SRQ047.

The 7 on the Citizen shown above looks like a >.

I think they are meant for any watch including chronos. 4:30 isn't ideal but I like that the age of the date wheel (when angled) matches the curve if the dial and case. Nothing wrong with it for my money. 3 and 6 o'clock work too.
