Thoughts on Seiko mods?
So the story starts with a black and blue Seiko 5kX that I bought for myself, as it was the exact color scheme as one of my very first watches, a cheap plastic Casio “diver” that wore daily as a kid. I wore my seiko 5 stock for close to a year or two aside from upgrading the nato strap it originally came with for a genuine leather band but then I discovered the world of “seiko mods”… I purchased my first mod watch, a modded seiko SKX013. I absolutely loved it and I wanted to see what I might be capable of, so long story short.. this is a before and after of what once was a plain Jane seiko 5kx turned into my favorite watch to wear during spooky season!!
So all that to ask, what are YOUR thoughts on seiko mod watches? Would you ever consider getting one or possibly making one?? Have you ALREADY made one before?? If so, how’d it go? I’d love to hear about your thoughts and experiences with seiko mods!

I build a few watches from eBay parts, but not Seiko. Seiko is next. I promised my nephew a watch with a chess themed dial. I plan to use NH35 movement because he wants an automatic. But I need a dial and I'm trying to make one myself. Where did you get your custom dials?

Aww that’s honestly the coolest gift! So props for that but I mainly get dials on eBay or Ali express
But I also recently built this one speaking of chess🤣
I've made one and it's really easy, with a little patience, some YouTube videos on hand and £60 worth of tools from Amazon!
I would say give it a go, it's so satisfying and I'll post my how I did it soon.
