It’s only quasi-mechanical :) Instead of a mainspring it has a battery that powers an electromagnet to swing the balance wheel.

Now that’s really sharp! Thank you! Haha yes, that fast tick is pretty unmistakable. No anti-reflecting coating makes it difficult to photograph so it looks better in person.
