New Watch Day “Rado DiaStar Original”

Rado is a brand I've really never looked into before, and I'm not sure what led me to their website last weekend, but I couldn't leave without buying this DiaStar Original Limited Edition (1972 Pieces).

I love Art Deco and the Palm Tree face just screams it.

I know it's not to everyone's taste but opening the box this afternoon was love at first sight.

In an era of large watches It's hard to find something that sits well on my 6.25" wrist. This seems just right.

People love Art Deco, furniture, art & architecture etc., for sure. You need to get down to Miami by some of those Art Deco hotels that look great. Might have some in Atlanta for all I know. Unusual, brave and individual timepiece. I love it, but not sure I could pull it off! 😎

I absolutely love it! Moving anchor on the dial and faithfully sized at 35mm too. Variety is the spice of life and I can't think of a better antidote than this to hype/herd watches which tend to dominate contemporary online watchdom.

Youre right, very Art Deco. The palm tree also reminds me of Egyptian revival architecture. I'm guessing the original was gold plated and the reissue's CVD coating is going to be way tougher, more practical and longer lasting.

I am seriously tempted though it is quite dear at £1,500. Unique though. Must resist!

Lovely. I'm not letting the Mrs see that one.

So original. I love where they put the day and date windows.

Congratulations on your purchase....excuse me while I get my 'old fart exorcism' kit before you have the urge to wear a wifebeater, beach shorts, flip-flops and your DiaStar while sipping coffee at a kopitiam while reading your paper. Brrr!

First thought was that I missed a Rado x Star Wars collab and they could have invested 6% more time in that Rebels Logo with this nice C3PO-Alderaan-Model ;)

Cool watch. Most interesting Detail is the vertical week day to me.
