Me too! I’ve gotten into more unusual watches recently that I love, but don’t have a lot of mass appeal. I’m also less picky on condition because I plan on keeping them.

That’s a tough question. I would say I generally try not to double up on watches (“I don’t really need another white dial dress watch”).
I think I’m transitioning to buying more unusual watches lately (especially if it’s difficult to find other examples). For example, I recently bought a 1940’s wrist-stopwatch and a really cool cushion case 1970’s LIP. I like picking up these watches under $1000 that are really beautiful.

I always remember the Talking Watches John Mayer 2 when he talked about “listening to that little whisper inside you of enthusiasm.” Collecting is just as much a hobby as anything else, so just help them understand that (you don’t need to be an evangelist).
