4 Years in the Making

Now I'm not usually one to attach some cliché story to the purchase of watches. While my watches are purchased in relation to milestones or personal accomplishments, at the end of the day they are superfluous things. However, today was 4 years in the making.

The Omega Aqua Terra Ryder Cup was originally supposed to be my first luxury watch. It was late 2020 and I had gone in to buy this watch. I had researched for what felt like a year always landing back on this watch. Then I entered the boutique and absolutely fell in love with the just released Nekton Seamaster 300m. Obviously, I walked out with the Nekton as the Seamaster professional just ended up speaking to me more in the metal or at least the excitement at that time did.

Now I'm not sure exactly when this model was discontinued, but I have lusted after it ever since the day. The price kept it at bay for a few years with a Sinn 105 being the only purchase in between. Finally, late 2023 rolled around and the idea to buy a new watch was stewing. Like many, I was leaning towards Tudor, a different Aqua Terra (which just felt wrong) or perhaps even going to Cartier for a Santos or Rolex for an Explorer 1. All the while, this piece in the background of my mind - I just couldn't find one.

Then it happened, I found one on Watch Finder! Ordered and had an excellent experience. As far as I can tell the peice is like new and am over the moon!

Probably the sexiest modern Aqua Terra I've seen so far.

I obviously have to agree with you! Something about the gold seconds hand just really does it for me.

Great watch and arguably the best GADA watch out there. Glad to read you had a great experience with Watchfinder, my three purchases via them have been excellent. You get what you pay for in terms of service and assurance in the legitimacy of the watch you are acquiring. And when this kind of money is involved that matters a lot, at least to me.

I am hoping it replaces my Sinn 105 as my most worn for 2024 by the end of the year. I have an intriguing idea of a blue croc or more simply a light brown leather strap on deployant for more dressy occasions that are infrequent for me.

I will definitely be returning to WatchFinder in the future!

Those sound like solid strap ideas for your AT. I have a sneaking suspicion the AT will overtake the Sinn 105 - despite it's own awesomeness. Omega is really another level in design and tech, and you feel it on wrist IMO. I am biased as an Omega Acolyte though!

Enjoy the new watch and I hope you make many amazing memories with it!
