Headed to see Oppenheimer tonight! I think I'll designate this seiko 5 as my go to movie watch. The full lume dial looks great in low light. Has anyone gone so far to buy a watch for anything other than its main intended use? (Swimming, hiking, traveling, timing, etc)

that is a really cool dial color on the Seiko 5!
I purchased the G-Shock Tide GBX100-2 - a surf watch - for my photography excursions. The watch has a few features that I need as a landscape photographer out on the coast - sunrise/sunset times, moon phase, and finally a tide chart so I don’t get stuck in the wrong spot or in a sea cave at high tide.
The tide chart isn’t perfect - it doesn’t provide the tide heights and is off by maybe a couple of hours, but it’s good enough to know if the tide is coming in or out.
Seiko 5, fully-lumed dial in a great shade of green, stainless steel case, gold hour markers and hands, gold crown, pretty fancy bracelet... What a strange but awesome watch!
