That's a very cool box to display and a great marketing move from Citizen.
My latest Citizen watch came in a black box "proudly made of recycled paper". I personally don't complain about it: the box now sits in storage beside my other "nicer" boxes made of plastic and faux leather. I don't throw the boxes in case I ever sell the watch (I've never sold one yet in 18 years 😀).
I got this with my “orca” citizen. I didn’t know it came with this, until I saw a video. I bought my watch at MACYS on a pre-valentines sale..so I had to wait to pick it up. When I did, they had it in a plain white box with a rubber band around it! I told them it is supposed to be in citizen packaging and this one has a special package. The lady went and brought out the empty locker one and this one. If I didn’t know, I would have had a plain white box. I don’t know if it was an oversight by the sales lady? Or a shenanigan? I honestly think the lady didn’t know. The moral of the story, always know what you are buying before you take it home and realize that presentation and packaging is important to the buying experience.

This same thing happened to me with a Seiko Save the Ocean model. Problem was, I didn't see the evidence that I should have gotten better packaging until months after I had the watch. Too late at that point.
Not sure if all or just the limited edition had it. The box is rarely part of a watch because it is probably worth more than such a watch. I love the look but the movement is ... 🙄
I'm an ardent watch collector and historian, tracing the ebb and flow of time through the lens of horology. My fascination began with the intricate mechanisms that tick beneath each dial and has grown...

Thought this one was neat.
I wonder who did such a box first. Omega has one as well

My Frédérique Constant Harley Edition came with a car

Heck, yeah! Not a box, but also some pretty cool merch to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Doxa Sub 300 with Aqua Lung.
When is a “box” no longer a box?

That is so cool! Makes me really want one wow!
If I were walking through the mall 90% of my purchasing decision would be because of the oxygen tank.

I couldn’t agree more 🤝
I saw a Promaster at a very, very good price but refused to buy it as it didn't come in this box. It is legendary packaging.

As you should!
Hard to beat the "fun" factor...
