Hmmm…. That leaves a lot open. Well, I’m probably not mainstream, but if it were me with those constraints, I’d probably buy a Seiko Willard….well one might have to shop around to get a good deal on that to meet the budget. A Seiko Alpinist might be my other choice.

Scroll down, read my post from just earlier. Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300.

I’m going with my default choice…the Murph

I would go for a seiko prospect with one of the limited edition dails. Typically they go for just over 1k but you can find then new on chrono for under.

I personally have a Baltic aquascaphe dual crown and it is amazing to dress up or down. With that pic you would even leave some money on the table for something else.

I use mine like a field watch.

What strap do you go for to dress it up? The BoR bracelet?

Great shout!

I dont have the BoR bracelet cus I did not like it too much when I visited the store. I do have it on a steel mesh bracelet which also gives it this vintage look.

Thanks, I’ll look into a mesh bracelet. That looks smart.

I find I really like the tropic strap - I also have one on a Circula dive watch in a teal colour. They are very comfortable and versatile, but I definitely need something else to dress it up.

Seiko Alpinist or the Baby Alpinist if you are not looking for a dive watch. Hard to beat the value it offers for around $600-700.

Also, the Laurel Alpinist reissue if you like sporty and dressy at the same time.

·

I've a few that fit that criteria - first choice would be my Willards, second 59 reissued Alpinist.

Tho save a bit more & get an older Omega Aqua Terra quartz ( I paid £1300)

Man there are a ton of options. Depends what style you want but Tissot PRX Powermatic and Mido Ocean Star 200 are a few good options
