Audemars Piguet [Re] mastered 01 alternative?

So my uncle bought me a graduation present, it was a Chagal watch, a brand I don't know much about and couldn't find to much information of online, but it's a swiss made watch, it uses an ETA 7750 movement and it's pretty awesome, I couldn't help but notice it's look alike characteristics with the AP watch on the title of this post. I'll attach some pictures of my Chagal watch and the AP. I would like to see what you know about the Chagal watch brand and what you think about it in general!

With respect, you are comparing a Ferrari to a lawnmower. The original AP you are referencing here is legendary. The original AP Chronograph movements were built off a Valjoux ebauche, but that is where the link stops; interesting enough the ETA is also technically a Valjoux 7750 but has been rotated in to get the dials in the position you find them. The Chagal is interesting, but is not a brand of note, despite how handsome it is, so enjoy it for what it is: a handsome Chronograph with a decent movement.

I mean... Of course I'm only talking design wise, it's a homage, a different take, an aesthetic similaritie, an inspired take on a classic design. How the hell is it suppose to stack up directly to the AP? One costs 350 dollars, the other one is about 35K for a reason, they are not on the same ball park, it's 1% of the AP's cost... That's supposed to be implied, not all of us have that kind of money to go for the AP 🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s not a homage of the AP, other than the chronograph complication having familial DNA it shares very little other than some gold. Not all chronographs are made equal.

Ok, they're not alike at all, they're completely different, not even the tear shaped lugs are remotely close, have it your way, in my vocabulary homage doesn't mean clone, but I guess we don't understand the word in the same way 🙅🏼‍♂️

Homage doesn’t mean clone… but look at the watches. The Chagal is dressier, it’s got Breguet numerals and a brilliant white waffle dial, it’s a bit of a mess as it’s trying to glam up something utilitarian by throwing parts together and hoping they stick. The AP is all gold, blued steel handset, simpler, cleaner, much more legible, technical - it’s a proper tool as it was designed to be.
