Oris vs Hanhart I can't decide ๐Ÿค”

Can't decide between the two ๐Ÿค” very similar specs

Oris big crown pointer date 40mm

Automatic winding pointer date movement,

Oris 754, base SW 200-1, 26 jewels, Frequency: 28โ€™800 A/h, 4 Hz 38 hour power reserve

Hanhart pioneer one 42mm

Automatic movement Sellita SW 200 28.800 A/h, 4 Hz, 26 jewels Power reserve of min. 38h

I'm swinging towards the oris but it is a little bit more ยฃยฃยฃ

I think the Oris is a better value and the pointer date gets rid of the interruption of the date window. But hey, the Hanhart is really nice, too.

I have the Oris BCPD in the 80th Anniversary Bronze edition. Absolutely love it. I don't own a Hanhart to compare it to. But if you get the Oris, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

ยท

I picked the Oris. If it were a chronograph, I would have picked Hanhart over Oris.

May I throw an Atlantic pointer date into the mix? About half of what the Oris cost I think

Thx for the tip, stunning looking!

Oris, then next a Hanhart chronograph!

ยท

I like the Oris better. If you are around water often the Hanhart is the better choice. Sometimes it seems the more pricey you go the less water resistance you get.

Another interesting pointer date to add to the mix - the Guinand Kalender 31:

Image

It points at the red spot as well on 31st, so as not to spoil the symmetry of the dial by listing 31 days around the edge.

The Hanart is a pretty nice piece, but I have a soft spot for the Oris. In a perfect world I would buy both.

They honestly seem like they're almost the same watch. But I would pick the Oris. Only because of the dial.

The dial on the Hanhart has a bit of character with that inset ring for the indices. But the chapter ring is pushed too far out, making it nearly invisible, and thereby creating an open and, imo, bland dial. Plus the indices feel a little crude.

The font for the indices on the Oris have a more refined appearance. And the chapter ring really draws your attention and balances the dial. Topped off with cathedral hands that seem as if the were designed for this dial. Plus the pointer date is a fun, but not all together useful, complication.

Hanhart by far the more storied manufacturer.
