Collecting Seiko Alpinists

I now have four Seiko Alpinists covering all of the three current case shapes. Top L to R is SPB289J1, SPB259J1 and SPB159J1. And below is the GADA SPB119J1 with an investment in strap options (leather, tropic rubber and Erica's Original fabric). I have enjoyed putting this collection together more than an alternative single Rolex Explorer/Tudor Ranger purchase

Droooool ... especially the white one! 😎

Gotta love an Alpinist, one of the best true GADA range of watches there is imho. 👍🏻

Hi, what do you think about the SPB159J1 accuracy?

Not sure yet. All 4 have the same 6R35 movement. I haven't put it on the phone accuracy checker and I don't yet own a Wishi.

I've noticed that if you don't wear it it's awful.. especially in the face up position. Like +25sec in one night.. But they are compensated for during the day. In the evening the time is precise again and in the night everything repeats itself…

Trawling your old posts after your recent one today. Can I ask, where did you get the oyster style bracelet for the SPB159?

It came from my Seiko SZSB012 JDM model. Not a high quality bracelet but it is ok.

Thanks. I’d really like an oyster style bracelet for my baby Alpinist, but I can’t find a third party one where the end links look like they fit properly. Strap code have one but the end links extend beyond the lugs. Am I being picky? Or would that bother you? Pics at the link
