Had this motorcycle accident…….

I’ve always enjoyed watches ever since I was a kid, the mechanical aspect intrigues me, though I really had no clue about how they worked.
But when I was dragged to the mall by my mom, or my wife as I got older, instinctively I would head to the watch section of whichever department store I was indefinitely stuck in.
In 96, my lovely wife got me a Citizen ProMaster with a solar panel in the dial ! CRAZY right !? As of 2023 it still runs without ever being opened. As of this minute, it’s off getting a much needed restoration out of sympathy by a Citizen authorized service center.
Anyhew…. 12-12-21 my dirt bike fell from high in the sky and landed square on my back, breaking it in 5 places, compressing 3 vertebrae, broke 13 ribs, collar bone and collapsed a lung. I was a mess…..I’m exceedingly lucky and am 99% normal now.
My Dad had bought me a killer Anniversay Edition Bulova Lunar Pilot in Ti for Christmas. The packaging was awesome as well ! He came out to take care of me and started me down a path of enjoying horology and trying to sway my interests away from riding motorcycles again.
So since then, I have bought several watches I thought I liked and a few I really do like. My holy grail watch isn’t any longer, but I had to start somewhere. ;-) Full bronze Oris…..now my wrist is green and smells like pennies….it’s humid here all the time.
Have some fun, live life, take nothing for granted.
Google “Harvey Mushman” no, I’m not him, but he’s a stud for sure!

Motorcycle landing on you is a new one to me, and I’ve heard lots of trauma stories. Glad you made it, and have converted to the (physically) less dangerous hobby of watch collecting. Cheers.
