My 1st true GMT

I have been wanting a true GMT(hacking hour) for some time now. This one was at the right price and color. I have a couple of Seiko SSk’s which I like a lot,but the hacking hour is definitely better.

What are your thoughts on the Miyota GMT date setting? I have this movement, and while I love that I have one, I find it a wee bit annoying. Especially the lack of a quick set date ability.

Having said that, lovely watch. And I’m a fan of that movement in general 🙌

I don’t find the date change that bad. Since it’s with the hacking hour it goes pretty quick.

That is true indeed 👍

One of my favorite watches I own hands down. Great choice in the espresso as well. JM is killing it!

Pretty much every travelers GMT I've ever come across changes the date the same way, by flipping the hour hand through midnight (I have Grand Seikos; they work the same way). So if you want a travelers GMT, you have to deal with the date setting. Since you can set the date either way, at most you would have to change it 15 days. I suppose that could get tedious, but I've never found it very onerous, and heck, I'm usually looking for an excuse to futz with my watches anyway.

Appreciate the info, only just got my 1st Travelers. Something to consider on future purchases for myself I guess. 👍

The Dark Knight version of this is EXTREMELY tempting

I have the dark night (Batgirl) and absolutely love it. There's a reason it's been sold out for a minute now. Congratulations - they're fantastic, high-quality watches that come with a lifetime manufacturer's warranty.

Outstanding choice. I have one VERY small nigggle with the design of the Stratotimer but it's easy to overcome.

Looks so nice!

Just curious what the ol' niggle is? Maybe I can help you with a question or something.

The 12 o'clock indice isn't distinct from the others (well besides the date window at 3)

I like watches where the 12 is distinct or if not then the 6 o'clock is distinct so you just have to "look up" and see 12.

Nice choice! I have the same model and I love wearing it!

Nice!! I’m wearing my WatchCrunch Limited Edition Stratotimer today. (Lol had to get that plug in)
