Thanks :) I initially thought about the green/gold GMT but then realised, the last few times I actually went outside, I was dressed in blue - not convinced it will look good (my Cronos doesn't), blue GMT? Looks lovely, but sometimes I wear browns... will that look OK? No idea... White/silver/champagne dial - not sure if that would look with totally casual clothing (hence my latest purchase of Seiko for testing :)) . The Conquest line is a bit too much for me, but heritage line looks interesting. So yeah - if it turns out I'll find an interesting Spirit that will save me some money on GMT and will look into the Heritage line for some 'once in a while' black tie events :)
commented onIt’s Friday the 13th👻 Do you like day and date complications?·
for the last 2.5+ years or so I am permanently working from home, in the IT industry = I seat in front of a PC 7 days a week either working or for pleasure. So at some point days turn into a blur. Having day/date complication feels like something really useful - if only someone combined that with GMT complication ( my life circulates around GMT and GMT+1, and for work quite frequently need to sync with people from GMT+5 1/2). Is there anything with that complication combination (that doesn't cost arm and leg, and kidney on top?).
and that's the thing, isn't it? It might look good in photos, or to other people, but it needs to make US feel good, isn't it? Oh well... I will not return it (not that kind of guy) but will probably gift it to someone with thinner wrists :)
I have a big problem with watch sizing - there is some weird disjoint between what my eyes see in person and in photos. I literally 10 minutes ago received my first-ever Seiko (SNXS73K1) - I put it on... Damn, IT IS TOO SMALL, looks like I stole a watch from a 5-year-old! But then I snapped a photo and... doesn't look comically small, doesn't it? I had the same problem with Hamilton Khaki - I bought 38mm because everyone was so ecstatic about that size - TOO SMALL...Switched to the 40mm size - perfect IN MY EYES.
So I guess that will be the same problem with Longines - some Spirits are smaller (even as small as 37mm) so I will have real trouble pulling the trigger on the purchase :(. 40mm feels like a safe bet, but that severely limits the options...
