I made my own watch stand from a cardboard tube, a drum stick and broken piston from a big block chevy, and it has lume
I had a silly Idea and with just used things I had laying around. None of it is new, was all essentially trash, but funny enough the components mostly have expensive origins, but it didn’t cost me a dime to build it. The cardboard tubes were used to ship very expensive OEM GM electromagnetic ride shocks, the piston came from a blown up 454 in a work truck that is gold painted because I used it as a paint stand for a part. The drum stick is actually from my first brick of drum sticks when I was a teen. I can fill in more details if anyone’s interested, but I didn’t document the process, just let the just flow through me when the idea struck. Here’s a couple more pics.
Just got back into timepieces, pardon my ignorance. Champagne taste, High Life budget.

The lume was a vinyl wrap that didn’t work out for a different project, cheap stuff off Amazon I thought I used up but saw it in the parts cabinet and there was juuuust enough
This is awesome. About a week ago I asked if people would buy something they searched for or try to make it themselves, and this fits perfectly.
Also, I didn’t mention, I had cut an inch wide strip out of the tube with a drywall saw I had laying around, and used a bench vise and tape to close the gap and wood glue to secure the seam. The vinyl wrap is over the seam so it isn’t seen

If it fell off my dresser my only concern would be if the watches got scratched, this is a proper stout boi. The tube is 1/8” hard compressed cardboard lol, I think I made a weapon
