I still haven’t made an update on my watchmaking journey, not that anyone is hounding me for it lol, but I did want to share the watch I am putting together as my practice full service/ test watch. The case should be arriving today, I’m thinking some of you can guess what it will look like.
I took the “gooseneck” balance complete off of another st36 that i had broken the escape wheel pivot on, and this movement started running better than when it arrived lol, brought it down from +7 second/ day to about +1 lol.
I haven’t even tried on an actual Panerai on before, or considered purchasing one (or an homage for that matter), but I just love how this looks. I was thinking of painting or engraving my own little “logo” somewhere on the dial when I ordered it (for literally only a couple dollars including hands with free shipping), but after I got it assembled onto the movement I was compelled to leave it sterile for now.
Anyway, I’m just excited to case it tonight if the package arrives on time.

Pretty movement, I'm looking forward to seeing the end result. Looking at buying something Paneraiesque myself.
Good luck with the build 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks, I appreciate the positive vibes. I’ll be sure to photograph and make a dedicated post with a list of supplies for anyone who wants to try.
Wow!!! Great job! I'd love to be able to do that!
This is fun and you are starting with a nice simple movement. I've done about 10 of these using ST3600 and ST3620 (seconds dial at 6). Here is a picture a my first four.
Here are some pictures of my own dials.
Looking forward to it partner, the more you build the better you will get
