Finally made it into an AD, a great time was had

Of course the only pictures I got were of the Rolex’s and these funky MiB edition venturas, even tho I went to try on a Moonwatch.

Gotta say the Moonwatch is the chrono for me, tried on a Daytona and NOPE. Didn’t do it.

The Skydweller was even better than I imagined, definitely what left the best impression on me, but LOL at the thought of actually bringing one home. Thing cost more than my wife and I’s cars together, so that ain’t happenin’. It was a ‘23, still had warranty! I did not know that the mall less than 5 min from my house had a Rolex AD in it, and now they are moving haha. Such is life. If anyone is feeling charitable, I am open to donations to the “Get Kyle a Skydweller before he’s a tired old man” fund

I also got to try a Thunderbird and was a bit underwhelmed unfortunately. The milgaus was also great, with a beautiful blue sunburst.

Anyway, they were awesome, my concierge was excited by how excited I was about watches, especially the Moonwatch, since he has a nice personal connection to that piece.

It was awesome, they had so many brands, and did not hesitate to let me try on anything, knowing I wouldn’t be purchasing that day. I think he was happy to spend some time with someone who was actually INTO watches, and not just the fashion of it? Anyway, I am so glad I finally made the time. Even got some free pens lol. I will definitely be back, will probably dig into the Tudor’s next time, and also try on a Seamaster.

My wife has also started sorta showing an interest, she’s been bringing me watches to repair and then actually wearing them, so I maaaaaaay pick her something up first to break the ice so to speak, they had some gorgeous ladies watches as well.

That skydweller, tho… 🤤

EDIT: Oh and I almost forgot!!! I tried on 2 differently Bluesy’s, one from ‘96, and another from ‘23. Holy cow they arnt kidding that older subs are JANGLY. And it was AMAZING how closely my prodiver felt to the 90’s sub, if felt like just like it, unreal. Invicta did do a really good job with those early ones haha.

Yeah man, it was hard to take off….

This just in: wifey has said “aw don’t say that you’ll never own a Sky Dweller, you never know”

So there’s hope, boys. Apparently we will become independently wealthy in the future.

Looks like a good time was had.

It was really nice to talk watches with someone else who is passionate about them face to face

·

I had been on the wait list had to go used when they discontinued them myself.

Hmmm . . . what's she doing on the side that you don't know about? Hand made potholders? Secret cupcake baking? Selling used books out of your garage?

But then again, who cares? You're getting your Sky Dweller!

This is great that you enjoyed your visit, and I enjoyed your story. I've read so many posts about those who were ignored or treated badly by ADs. I don't know why anybody puts up with it. Can't stand rudeness. I'd give them one chance, maybe two. "Tolerance" is one of those words that enjoys an undeserved good reputation. We don't "tolerate" a beautiful sunset, or work of art, or a good steak dinner. No, to tolerate something, it has to be kind of lousy. And then "tolerating" something more than once or twice turns it into "enabling".

Yeah it was really cool that they were into how excited by watches I was, when you kinda kinda tell by looking at me that I don’t have “previously enjoyed” Rolex money lol. I do look forward to trying on some Tudors and maybe some Longines, stuff that closer to my “budget” so to speak lol. But yeah, really cool to be treated just as I had hoped when I hear so many stories of how bad some ADs seem to treat people.

I suppose that’s mostly due to people generally being more apt to vent about a negative experience than gush about a positive one.
