Omega Speedmaster Runs without winding
Hi
I picked up my speedmaster 2022 model (was completely stopped, needed winding) and was playing around with it and the seconds hands started moving like it was an automatic. Is this normal, I’m a bit of a newbie to manual winds but not to automatics.
so far it’s done 6 mins without any winding.
it’s freaking me out a little and there’s no way it’s a fake. Bought from an Omega Boutique.

Uri Geller did this too. Jostling and/or hand warmth will loosen things up enough to reduce friction.

I am no watchmaker so this is a guess. I am guessing you had some residual power reserve but not enough to overcome friction of the breaking grease in the barrel. Handling the watch might been enough to overcome that friction and release the little bit of remaining power reserve. I have been watching too many watch repair YouTube videos lately.😉
