State of the Girlfriend's Collection

I have been slowly buying my girl watches and this 4-slot watch box trying to get her into watches. This is her small and humble collection thus far.

  1. Cardow - Coral. This is a sentimental piece purchased for her by her mom. It has been her only watch for 10+ years. Cardow is a local jewelry store in the virgin Islands, where we're from, and this reminds her of home.

  2. Citizen - Silhouette. This is the first watch I bought her. It's a solar powered watch with a MOP dial. The sto10s on the bezel are made of sapphire same as the crystal.

  3. Tissot - Porto. This is the most recent watch I bought her. It's her first mechanical watch and it is handwound. It's also her first swiss piece.

The last slot I want to get her something to wear in the water whilst we're on vacation. I'm thinking some type of women's dive watch or maybe a g-shock. Any thoughts?

Yes, you're doomed 🤣

Got my Mrs into the hobby, now my budget is halved and she's awake of how much I pay for mine 😭🤣

In all seriousness it's fantastic to share some things you love with someone you love.

Enjoy it mate 👏🏻👏🏻

To add, look for used on eBay for her, there's not many ladies into the hobby so there's some great used bargains out there 👍🏻

I have a Tissot Seastar 36mm that I love for vacations and would definitely recommend.

Some alternatives, depending on your budget and size preference:

Citizen Promaster diver 37mm.

Certina lady action diver 34mm

Hamilton khaki navy scuba

Phoibos Voyager

Tag Heuer aquaracer

Longines ladies hydroconquest

G shock does not do a huge amount for me personally so I can't help on that front, but you probably can't go wrong with one if you want something cheap and durable

That Tissot looks great!

A bunch of nice options, thank you. Her wrist is super small. So anything over 36mm is too big. Something in the 20s would work best for her. I never herd of that certina, I don't think, but I will look it up.

When I took the macro shot I was very impressed by the dial. There are also male sizes and if I ever needed another dress watch I would probably add it to my collection. Lol

You might also want to look at the Seiko 5 sports range in that case as well - from memory they have a28mm (?) option that looks good. Good luck with your search

In terms of looks this is nice, but it's too big.

I have 5.5 inch wrists and I used to think that anything bigger than 36cm would not suit me. However, I recently got myself a 42cm diver gmt watch. Maybe it’s too big, but I don’t care, because I love it so much. Obviously tastes differ from person to person, but it’s always worth trying on a watch before deciding. I’m wearing a seiko spb385j.

I definitely second the Tissot Seastar 36mm. One of my favorite watches to wear.
