Bezel swap for the Willard

A bezel arrived for the Willard today, there was little hesitation to remove and replace to see how it looks. It was difficult to photograph the damage on the previous bezel and insert- and it still looked great, but there was barely a square mm without rash or damage, and none of that was mine.

Definitely a nice freshen up after this thing spent five years on the wrist of a chef that I bought this from a few weeks ago.

I added a green sailcloth strap that arrived in record time from Artem Straps and I am a happy man.

All the marks on the watch from now on will be my own.

Good work. Now you can scratch the new one with your own memories. 👍

I wish Seiko sold just the inserts without the bezel. I'd buy three. 🙄 💰💰💰

*Looks at the close up of the bezel*

Holy crap, the previous owner even cracked the ceramic insert *points at the straight crack across the insert under the 50 marker*. Dude really wore his Willard.

He definitely put the watch through its paces.

The gunk under the bezel and in and around the click spring was pretty solid, bezel feel is lighter and better pronounced now.

Yep, the thing to do when you buy a preowned watch; clear the gunk first.

Most impressive! Way to really freshen up a well-loved watch and get it ready for a whole new set of adventures and memories. My hat is off to you! Enjoy your new (to you) watch! 🍻

I don’t mind a watch with wear; as long as the wear is mine I guess! Looking forward to taking this thing on plenty of outdoor activities!
