Micro fun in Long Beach - Intersect LA Nov 11th

Happened upon a down low announcement on a micro and independent watchmaker show in Long Beach, wanted to pass it on to everyone.

Sadly, I'm in LA the week before so just missing this.

Nodus and Jack Mason putting it on, but lots of interesting brands in attendance.

One brand I'm still trying to see in person - Horage - is in attendance as well, there is a great article about the company by Worn and Wound this week:

Link to RSVP for the watch fair (RSVP required) is at Nodus website: (scroll down)

Beautiful. I own a Nodus GMT Metro.

Several killer brands in one spot. Love that Nodus dial and I hope to add a Horage eventually.

EDIT: Just realized that is the Smoking Tire prototype they are raffling off for charity. I listen to the podcast, but never looked it up, absolutely awesome.

I agree. I found the Smoking Tire one a few days ago when one video I was watching auto-played into something else. Nodus is stalking me.

That Horage looks amazing.

They stalked me via some of my other feeds, now I'm the proud owner of their Sector Deep x AWWC lololol.

Only regret is sleeping on Nodus this long. 😏🤪

I was soooo ticked due to training I had to miss the one in DFW.

It was such a hit they are coming back next year to DFW.

The raffle is for a great cause as well - blood bank, Red Cross

I’m in surgery today that emptying the blood bank , so benefits immediately appreciated!

I believe the charity is BeTheMatch, which helps match bone marrow patients with donors, something I know he is close to. I wish I was young enough to support them, but sadly I am too old as they focus on 18-35 donors, but will gladly donate cash. It is for a good cause either way. They are also taking blood donations (Be it Red Cross or not) as an entry as well. Hats off to them for coming up with a good way to raffle a watch.

Bummed I’m just missing a chance to try on a few in person and meet some people from the company

Love the new tourbillon they show in the W&W article

Ahh so many cool watch events! I want to handle a formex in real life and horage since you speak so highly of them. Nodus I don't know much about, but that blue green color is nice. Explorer vibes.

·

Is that the watch your waiting on, the tourbillon?

How is it? I've almost 'added to cart' a few times on this one.

Very cool. Low profile which is what I prefer.

Matt might come to the event to meet and greet and talk about his watch. Depends on his insane schedule.

Thank you for your donation. Matt lost his brother in law recently and was deeply affected by it. This charity is one of the reasons his brother in law had as long as he did.

DFW will probably be in November next year. I knew TX summer was brutal, had no idea it was THAT brutal.

Yeah, it gets hot. Especially DFW.

November will be nice though and soon as I get the dates I'm RSVP-ing!

Thanks Wes! I listed to his podcast weekly, though am not a Patreon member. He’s a humble guy and I recall listening to him share his experience building his first garage and how his brother and law helped with the sound proofing in his studio, to when he tragically lost him.

Excellent work as always and I love my Sector Sport. I need to get another color soon.
