Watch winder

Does anybody use a watchwinder box.

I like the idea of them but not sure if they are worth while.

I've gone this long without one but everytime I watch a youtuber they have them running in the background

Hey there!  Yeah, I got a bunch of watch winders.  Just my opinions:

  • Are they worthwhile?  Like, do they really serve any critical purpose?  Nah.  Totally not.  I can understand that if you have a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Hybris Mechanica Caliber 185 Quadriptyque and if somehow it stops running, it'll cost you $8,000 to fly a JLC engineer out to reset it, then you would definitely want a watchwinder
  • Are they fun?  Totally.  It's just fun watching the winder spinning round and round with your watch in it

I’m considering one.   It could be a nice Christmas gift for the wife and I later this year.  We could both use it for our watches.

Totally unnecessary.

I still want one though. 🤷‍♂️

I once had a few, then a couple, then none.I have more watches than they could handle.

I'm of the opinion that it's better to let them periodicly wind down rather than perpetually spinning. I generally make sure to fully wind my automatic watches at least once a month if not being worn in rotation.

That's what I sort of do with mine

I had some for awhile but realized they just weren’t for me. Was a fun way to display though, so I say snag one and see if you enjoy it. 👍
