It's not every day one comes across one of these (IYKYK)

So a buddy of mine was in town after a formal event wearing this. I knew for years that he had one but I never got to see it until now. He was nice enough to let me try it on for a bit. The story goes that his grandfather purchased it new when it was released and eventually handed it down to him before his passing.

He had it serviced by Rolex not too long ago and I must say it's quite a handsome piece. Probably the one Rolex that would certainly be at home in a collection like mine, hah.

Do the second hand hit the markers? If I'm to believe some people, that is the first test of quality, and I presume this to be a very high quality movement.

I was always impressed by GS HAQ quartz and the compensation system to make sure the second hand was always aligned with the markers

What a stunning piece and just a timeless Rolex charm! It's truly remarkable to finally lay eyes on a watch you've heard about for so long, especially when it carries such a poignant family history. It seems more than just a timepiece; it's a cherished heirloom. Great for you too as it is refreshing to hear your take on wearing and sharing a timepiece that holds sentimental value, along with the memories it holds.

Perhaps this could be your crown and throne of that one quartz in the collection 🫅🏻

At first glance, I couldn't help but to think it's quite apparent that the case shape bears a resemblance to the Tissot PRX as well.👌

Also, it's quartz yet a superlative chrono certified? Honestly, I haven't delved into the research on the movement's accuracy much, but it must be incredibly precise—I'm envisioning something akin to the impressive standards of Grand Seiko. 👍

At a glance it looked that they did. Didn't see any recoil action either.

It certainly had a presence to it. Not just because of its rarity but also the story behind it. PRX vibes was my initial impression too. Not sure the details of the movement but I think it cost him almost 2k to get it serviced so it's probably very precise.
