Is this the best watch under $50??

The Casio Duro is $46 on Amazon right now. I think i got it for $48 about a year ago. It came on the rubber strap that i think you like or hate but no one loves.

Before I "ballooned up" the price to $70 with the stainless steel bracelet ($22) I wrote the watch on the rubber strap for about a year. The watch was still heavily in my rotation.

The watch is tough and it will swim and has without any anxiety. Lume is great. The dial is a gorgeous deep black which looks like it should be on a more expensive watch. It's quartz so it's a pick up and go. It's very accurate. The second hand comes very very close to hitting every marker around the dial.

So I put the question out there... Is there q better watch for under $50 out there? I don't think there is.

I agree. I own three of them. Can you share where you sourced the oyster bracelet? I’m looking to make the swap as well. Thanks!

That's great for people that care about water resistance, but it doesn't have Indiglo like a Timex Easy Reader does.

I definitely want to get one in the collection. The indiglo dial like amazing in photos.

Definitely one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) 3 hand quartz dive watch under $50

Just my opinion but, I almost have to say no.. I have 2 Duros and love them one in bracelet and the other on a Nato. You want something you could put on and go to the beach hike , or even a casual dinner . My only minor problem is that I wish it came in a 40-42mm case. Other than that I will never sell them.

I agree with other posters, definitely Casio and Timex for value for $.... Both are well built and will last as long as you let them. I will throw one more in the hat though. It's a Casio under $50, with 200m, WT, real crystal etc... DW-291H

Smaller would be nice but i do think that for this style watch the size is on point.

This is true. In that past I didn't mind 43 or 44mm ( being a Casio fanboy) but, as I got more into the collecting the 40-42mm seems to fit me more. Don't get me wrong I still wear my duros alot especially on the weekend.

Yep

Perfect in every way

I even like the stock strap, I have two (modded) and I have Duro’s on my Santa list 😉

As far as rubber straps goes, i liked it too. It wore well and it was comfortable. I just fell in love with the idea of the stainless steel and really like the change it made.

Please define 'Best'...

I have one too, I think its the best watch (dive) out there at that price. I almost agree with you on everything, but even if I was ultra generous myself I would give the lume 1 out of 10, maybe 1.5 at a push. And it's a bit big (on me anyway). Definitely better specced watches on AliE if you don't mind that sort of thing.

Think I paid £70 for the strap on mine 😂

That's a great looking strap.

·

From a well-respected major brand? No. But, I paid around $45 for this in the Aliexpress sale:

Seiko NH35 movement, ceramic bezel insert, sapphire glass (including cyclops), all stainless steel, bracelet with milled clasp included at the price and BGW9 lume. This Steeldive SD1953 beats the Duro at the price.

·

I love my Steeldive and have nothing bad to say about the brand. That's a good looking watch.

There is a better value watch out there for $50, but it's also a Casio. The blue one I have. 😉

Not from a major brand anyway, I think it's a good buy

I’ve got two and always looking for a third.
