Did I get bamboozled? The Seiko 5 Rowing Blazer
I was intent on “downsizing” my collection in the next few months. Went to my daily fix of Hodinkee and saw Ronny Chieng advertising the new Seiko 5 and Rowing Blazers collaboration and got caught up in the hype, so I snagged the Pink dial one. Wanted the white but it was sold out everywhere.

Yeah it’s a limited edition, Rowing Blazer on the dial and RB on the crown, the logo “tempus fugit” (time flies) on the exhibition case back, BUT is it worth double the price of a regular ol Seiko 5?
What do you guys think?

Is there a question here because you kinda lost me at "collaboration".
The recent rush of Rowing Blazers so-called collabs with Tudor, Zodiac, Seiko…is a real head scratcher to me, as I don’t get the appeal. The company logo is basic, uninspiring and serves to clutter/distract an otherwise perfectly fine dial. Sorry but not a fan obviously. The watches are selling out, so what do I know?? Haha … The true driving factor is what do you think? Good luck! 🤙
I enjoy some of RB’s clothing but I don’t enjoy their logo. I think the pink dial is the one to own but you sound like you might be regretting the purchase
If you like the watch no need to worry. Everyone works differently some might say save it and spend it on a microbrand. Others might say save the money and wait 20 years to get a Daytona.
Of course you got bamboozled, but that's what this games about. Do you love it,will you wear it and will it make you smile, if yes then it's a bargain.
Personally,although very attractive, they didn't make me smile enough to warrant the outlay(great colours and those indices ❤). No definitely not worth it,but is any watch really. Mind you I'm looking at the snoopy 5, and if I pull the trigger on that, that's definitely bamboozled me. So enjoy your watch and hang the expense (I will/might😁)

I'm sure you will, and if not, going by previous releases you should be able to sell it easily (maybe for a profit) it's a looker alright.

My take as well. Not much of a risk. You were able to grab one of the most popular dials. And I like the little interesting you get. Yes, it’s a Seiko 5. But there’s a little more to it. Worth the price? Maybe, maybe not. That’s subjective.
Give it try and see how you like it. Worst case, shouldn’t be hard to move and get your money back. Overall that’s a pretty good position to be in.
