Best daily watch in 36mm - Idea Collection

Hello everybody,

As many others, I really like the Explorer I in 36mm. I like the Tudor Black Bay 36 just as much, but here is the catch: They are both too expensive for me๐Ÿ˜Š

So my idea was to aks you guys for the best automatic daily watch with a decent bracelet for under 1000 bucks. Any recommendations are welcome!

Mh Iยดm not so keen on them. I had a Speedmaster Homage, and gave it away after a couple weeks because I wasnยดt connecting to it at all... So Iยดd say no homages

Lorier Falcon 2.

Baltic MR-01.

Maybe not be exactly under $1k, but yeah surely something to consider.ย

Khaki King II is one tough and close competitor in my book but its a bit larger, just a bit ๐Ÿ˜˜

Thereโ€™s also rumours of the Tissot PRX coming out in a 35mm version

Ooo... That's exciting!

I bought my dad a Datejust 36 for his birthday years ago and he's worn it every single day ever since. I wouldn't consider it a daily wear myself (it's two-tone) but I dunno it seems to work for him! I'd say, any watch you love can be a daily wear.

+1 for the Lorier Falcon II. Itโ€™s a lovely watch.ย

Also Vero did some nice 36mm but I think they are all sold out.

ยท

This is too broad a question.

So if itโ€™s maybe Rolex/Tudor-esque, maybe an Islander Hi-Beat Dress. They are currently $349 on sale and running out of stock. I quite like the Cotton Candy dial, and the Robin Egg Blue has sold out.

The Smith's PRS-25 is hard to beat for the money. You'd have plenty of change for something else or new straps.ย

The Lorier Falcon II is a nice watch. I sold mine though. Bracelet was not nice or comfortable for that matter. It also had the noisiest rotor of any watch I own.ย

I think you could get a decent Oris in your budget as well.ย

You could have Lucas Atelier build you one: https://luciusatelier.com/products/explorer-watch-case-v2-36mm ย The case is very nice, the bracelet is pretty nice, the clasp is OK.

San Martin also builds great quality watches, and has several explorer homages.

If you are willing to go up a couple mm in size, checkout astorandbanks.com/products/fortitude-lite

How about the Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic 38mm black dial with steel bracelet. ref. H70455133. US $625

Sinn 556. I would argue the 556I without the arabic numerals is closer in spirit to the Explorer than the 556A, as the 556A has much more of a flieger vibe.
