When is a SEIKO not a SEIKO..

They never made this watch.. the dial is after market as are the hands.. the MM200 case is OEM and came with the rehault, the bezel and the stem and crown wheel.  The movement is an NH35.

I made this watch for me, I've no intention of selling it on, passing it off or any of that other nonsense, but if a reasonable 6r35 appeared I'd use it because that's what the case back says it should have.

At the moment though.. I'll just wear it and enjoy it, and take a bit of pride in the fact I made this one myself on a cold evening while the wife was out doing some theatre related stuff.

Really nice looking watch.  Well done!

I think it looks really nice. so you say the dial is aftermarket? So not made by seiko?
Since it has a seiko movement, it still seems to have the heart of a seiko to me

Yeah it's marked as SEIKO but it's not made by them.

I'd like to add a 6r35 movement to it eventually, they're still expensive though.

Because they never made this case with a peacock dial like this one (that's what it's sold as) I don't feel as bad using a branded dial and a lesser movement.   Never seen the point of building a watch you can buy 🤣

Sweet build! That red accent is a nice touch.
