New Christopher Ward 'Consort' bracelet

In addition to a couple of new dial colours for some Sealander models, CW have a new bracelet design they call 'Consort.'

Slimmer (3mm thick), dressier and with a butterfly clasp, they say this has over 200 separate parts and has been engineered for comfort. Not much detail on adjustment though, which is usually an issue with butterfly bracelets.

Between Tudor's new bracelets for Black Bay and this, it seems like dressier bracelets may be becoming a trend? Wondering how the community feels about this and if anyone has hands-on experience with CW bracelets and can speak to quality and comfort?

I have handled the older CW bracelets, and they were well made.

I suspect these new bracelets are even better, since CW has been making continuous small improvements over the years.

I wish the bracelet fad would die out... I hate them. They are the least comfortable way to wear a watch in my opinion.

Thanks, Kristian. Agree CW's commendable approach of continuous iteration and improvement likely means this will represent a good move. What's your strap preference, out of curiosity?

I'm a fan of Erika's Original MNs, but for dressier occasions I prefer a leather strap.

I used to be a bracelet guy, but after switching to Erika's straps I'm 100% a strap guy now.

I have a CW and the bracelet is very good. So, quality-wise I’d be fine getting another bracelet from them.

However, I’d not a fan of butterfly clasps except for use one actual, dedicated dress watches. For anything regular wear, I’d think the lack of micro adjustments is a reason to avoid them.

CW are still offering their bracelet re-sizing service at 0.5cm increments for the Consort bracelet so there is some degree of size control. Be interesting to see some reviews soon...
