Origins

Hey all, I am always interested in seeing what you all are into collecting besides watches. Thought I'd share my fist love of time pieces, clocks. The intro image is a mod I made from a few different clock parts. It's some sort of Japanese movement, a bezel from something else turned sideways, and the case from a school hallway clock from the 1950's. It lives in my little basement machine shop.

Above is the first clock I bought in about 1978. It's a Chauncey Jerome (American) c.1840. It represents a super interesting history of industrial production in the US.

This is a Sessions (American) c.1920. It lives in my main studio. The lower glass was replaced about 20 years ago.

Here is a Waterbury (American) c.1880, movement. The case is from the mid twentieth century, looks like it was based on the case work of a Sessions clock.

The most recent purchase, about ten years ago, is this Ansonia (American) c.1920. What I love about this clock is that it came out of Detroit public school and still has a DPS repair tag inside.

These clocks are pretty easy to keep running with just an occasional cleaning and oil.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it.
