New life for an early watch

One of my first watch purchases, before I even realized that I was collecting watches, is this Dan Henry diver. I honestly don't recall how I even found this watch in 2019. I now have 18 watches and have a better idea of what I like and more importantly what I actually wear. This watch has been neglected for more than a year. Maybe time to sell it? But, the value is low, I'm not sure it's worth the effort. How about a new strap? Or a bracelet?!

Here it is on a Strapcode hexad. I now LOVE this watch. I wore it for a week to make sure that I like the bracelet. I've read some reviews that call this bracelet finish sharp and uncomfortable. It is sharpish, but is comfortable. I was curious if after a week I would feel different. But, no, it is good. I love the chiseled links with the slab architecture of the watch body. I think the straight end links even work well with the watch. I found the bracelet easy to size. The compact clasp has 3 micro adjustments adding to the ease of sizing.

I also tried a new bracelet on another early purchase of a Seiko 5.

I'm undecided about this one. The Stapcode Super Engineer is very sharp and on the edge of being uncomfortable. Maybe it's all of the extra link edges that make it that way. I may have overshot the aesthetics here too. Lots of reflective surfaces/edges, too much bling??!

Any watch revivals you have to share? I'd love to see.

Thanks

Two very beautiful watches

The band on the seiko looks awesome, imo. But i think it would suit another watch better, the Seiko is a bit too “tame” compared to the band. Maybe try it on a racing chrono, ideally a panda, something like the Dan Henry GT chrono? It gives me checkered flag vibes.

Good call! I've thought about a DH racing chrono, this may be the perfect excuse to buy one :)

I love your DH, but if it's not inspiring you to strap it on, it's probably time to sell and buy something else.

Life is too short to worry about a watch 😎
