The TY2807 Seagull movement — a lovely cup of tea.

I’ve often envied Captain Picard with his luxury of ordering the NCC-1701-D’s Computer to instantly generate for him a hot cup of Earl Grey.

That tea blend’s oil of bergamot fills any kitchen nook with a warm loveliness that is as satisfying as its ascending citrus bouquet.

Regarding my watch movements, the Seagull TY2807 movement is my favorite cup of tea.

Image

Steaming along at 21,600 beats per minute (and about 5 seconds-a-day fast for all three I own), the decorated, skeletonized movement provides me with a tinge of elation every time I gaze upon it.

Studying the wheels and cogs as they rotate ignites the nerves in my brain-folds with fundamental fascination.

This movement is not famous, expensive… nor ravenously-sought after by the most elite of watch aficionados. But for me…it’s a cup of tea worth sipping until gone.

What movement do you really like even though it may not be one of those fancy kind that cost one’s set of family jewels?

My humble gift to myself for acheiving 18 months sobriety. It, too, a Seagull

Excellent! And kudos to you good sir!

Good stuff. My first mechanical watch was the blue amitron you have pictured. It's what got me in the hobby. I agree it's pretty, I spent a lot of time adoring it.

Fantastic! I got mine on one of Armitron’s big sales for I think 115 bucks. It’s one of my favorite watches for sure!

Earl Grey comes runner-up I'm afraid. Russian Caravan is where it's really at.👌

I must try it.

I'm not too familiar with various mechanical movements to have a particular cup of tea. The #seagull does have a gorgeous movement.

Though as a tea enthusiast, I do enjoy a good cup of Earl Grey and its rich bergamot aroma. However, I enjoy the malty flavor of an Irish Breakfast blend.

@DariusII found mine in storage. I wore this thing everywhere. It's beat to hell. It was a gift over 10 years ago that introduced me to mechanical watches. Also, it still runs 😂 Cheers!

Fantastic! It even has the old style Armitron logo.
